Choline chloride

Feed Additives

Choline chloride, a methylamine derivative, is largely utilized as a vitamin alternative or supplement in poultry and fish feed additives. Choline, a necessary component of phospholipids, is required for the formation and maintenance of cell structures, as well as the correct maturation of the cartilage matrix of the bone and the prevention of perosis in broilers. Choline is important for fat metabolism in the liver, limiting aberrant fat accumulation in hepatocytes (fatty liver) via enhancing fat transport as lipoprotein and lecithin or increasing fatty acid consumption in the liver. Choline is a precursor to acetyl choline production, which allows nerve impulses to be sent. Choline provides labile methyl groups to produce methionine and creatine from homocysteine and guanidinoacetic acid, respectively. Saudi Mix has access to the best producers of Choline chloride globally.
